Hunted: The Demon's Forge

Just a really quick post.

Hunted: The Demon's Forge is almost here to be exact, it will be released on Monday, May 30th, roughly 1 day and 11 hours to go. You can pick it up via digital download through steam or pre-order the old fashion way at Gamestop/Best Buy.

I have to say this game looks like its going to be a lot of fun. And being set in a new world people have never seen before is a fresh sight. This is something Bethesda Softworks is really good at doing, creating original worlds for hardcore RPG fans and casual gamers to explore and conquer. I have already purchased myself a copy along with gifted one to a friend so we can hack and slash our way through the hordes of the underworld in CO-OP.

CO-OP seems to be turning into a must have for games and to be honest I think its a great way to sell a game. The majority of games out there that have amazing single player would have been even better with CO-OP (*cough* Battlefield Bad Company 2) or hell even just a multi-player. But anyways if you want to know more about the game head over to the official website of Hunted: The Demon's Forge by using the link below.

COME OUT!

New tower!

Hey everyone.

So for the last five years I have been building and upgrading my own PC. It all started the day I fried my first motherboard. Oh the memories are coming back. Wait.. back to the post at hand. My computer has evolved into something more than just a hunk of metal but a really hot hunk of metal with my most recent purchase of a NZXT Phantom case. This is hands down the easiest case to work in.

Now let me tell you this case is amazing. Not only does it hold all of my hardware neatly, it has room to spare. The overall design of this case is amazing and the layout of the case is flawless. If you feel your components are getting too hot inside your case well NZXT thought of just how to fix that problem.

The case features 3x120mm fans, two of which reside on the left door panel to cool your hard drive bays and one on the rear exhaust(like usual). It also features the ability to have 3x200mm fans, one on the left door panel and two exhaust fans on the top. Also the front panel allows for another 140mm or 120mm fan for even more intake. Now your probably thinking, holy hell thats a lot of fans how am I going to power them all. Well NZXT thought of that to by placing a fan control on the top of the case and with just one 4pin power plug you can power every fan in the case and have the ability to control their speed with the slide of..well.. a slider. Now not only does the case allow for multiple fans it also has multiple screen meshes to allow other components the ability to vent. The bottom of the case is drilled with vents but also the right panel has a nice mesh vent. I have to say the overall airflow design of the case is out of this world.

Now when you think, damn this thing has 7 fans, you probably are wonder where the hell all the cables are going to go. Well again NZXT though of that as well. The cord management design is amazing. I have never seen another case able to tend my multiple cables and somehow I found this case really easy to do just that.

The design of the case had me questioning the purchase but I have to say its grown on me. I think the look is very sleek and professional. It feels very well manufactured. And looks great alongside my Razer products. Well enough babbling about it, how about some photos.

So there you have it. My most recent build to my computer. Below are the specs.

Amd Phenom II x6 2.8Ghz - Overclocked to 3.5Ghz
4x Corsair Dominator DDR2 800Mhz - Overclocked to 1000Mhz
Evga Geforce GTX 460 - Overclocked
Gigabyte GA-MA780G-UD3H
1TB Seagate HDD-7200RPM

Fun Texas Holdem App

Hey everyone. Came across a new app a week back while sitting on the bus and felt it deserves more attention!

And so like many of us, we often find ourselves sitting on the train or bus for our daily commute or sitting behind a computer at work contemplating how to sneak out without the boss seeing you!

Enter Texas Poker. This app is just plain fun and really easy to use. You can even log in with your facebook id and as you can see, play with other real people from around the world. If you're a fan of poker but hate playing in person where people can read your bluff, well then you defiantly have to check out this app. And to boot, its free! You can't go wrong. So give it a shot.

Take cover! Another beta key giveaway.

As many of you might know I have a rare skill which allows me the ability to get into almost any beta I set my eyes too. And for this past month my eyes have been fixed on everything Battlefield, mainly due to DICE's current project Battlefield 3. So before I talk more about how amazingly awesome Battlefield 3 is going to be I wanted to again share a multi-use beta key for EA's new online venture Battlefield Play 4 Free!

So like always this is a first come first serve basis. This key is allowed 5 uses and I can envision them as bullets flying out of a full auto machine gun so get yours put in quick!

Beta Key: AXVW-9UU6-G8RK-YW2B

All you have to do is head over too http://battlefield.play4free.com/en/, create a free account(sign up for awesome Battlefield email updates!) and enter the key above. Once you do that you will first be prompted to create your character as well as to download the in browser software which always you to play the game. After that you can enjoy dominating your foes on the Battlefield, free to play of course.

Well thats all I have at the moment. A Battlefield 3 first impression to follow within the next few days and my glorious adventure to C2E2 where I and many other lucky folks were fortunate enough to see some of the first ever live gameplay of Battlefield 3! So please stay tuned.

Please comment/subscribe and if you would like a specific beta out there please let me know and if I am unable to get more keys I would be more than willing to generate a well thought out balanced review. Thanks again for reading!

Update!

So over the past two months a rag tag team of eight people banded together to embark on an adventure into the unknown world of Heroism. This is what we've found so far!

Here is the designer art for what our story will be. If you would run through this and see if you can understand it. We plan to have similar drawings on major buildings within the game to signify why certain things are the way they are. Now I must stress this is designer art not final game art. It will stay rudimentary but look more along the lines of the pictographs found in ancient Egyptian times.

Now to the meat of the sandwich! Being the art lead I often have found my self looking over work that has been created and adding modifications too them rather then being able to create things from scratch. Below are the weapons that have currently been created for the game which all have gone through many iterations and still have more to go. The weapons are as follows, wood on the left, bone on top, and bronze on bottom. This is just the start of the weapons. We still have to finish bronze, iron, steel, and our made up metal demdanite! So expect to see a lot more elegant weapons in the future!

These are our shields at the moment. As you can see they have gone through an iterration this past week and still have some more to go.

Here is a look at the current shrines in the game. Shrines basically function as the control center for the hero allowing him to give orders to his peasants and rapid movement to other captured locations on the map.

The major problem we had the beginning month of the games creation was a cohesive style. I feel that we have finally found that style and its turning out very well.

More updates to come later. Look forward to seeing our character and game play??

The Great Chicago Storm

Taking a little detour from the gaming world to shed some like on the recent events that occurred here in Chicago. Some of you might of heard the Midwest is being rattled with severe storms ranging from tornadoes, ice storms, and snow storms. Well Chicago, being the lucky city it is, got two out of the three. Yesterday afternoon and early into the next morning Chicago was pelted with layers and layers of snow and ice. Now today after what seems like a massacre the city has been engulfed. Streets which once where filled with cars are rushing rivers of snow. When I ventured out into the Great Chicago Storm I brought along my Flip video camera and was able to get some good video of the storm and drifts it left in its wake.

Alright I lied when I said this wasn't going to be about games. Although my attention is still towards the snow outside it made me remember a game with similar setting, Lost Planet. However, I didn't care much for the first Lost Plant but I did enjoy the second installment. I'll have a post later this week about Lost Planet 2 so look for it.

But without further delay her is the video I was able to take when heading out in the storm both the evening and late evening.
